At the beginning of 2016, I started praying about making a move in my career. It was either to look for a new job opportunity or to further my studies.

 

I began to simultaneously apply for jobs and researched prospective universities to study at. After a while, I started to become weary because even though I had aggressively applied to different companies, I wasn’t getting any response. I then decided that I should pray and apply for just one opportunity that would be an open door to many other blessings.

 

During the U-Turn 21-day Prayer and Fast, I completely surrendered my heart’s desire to God and prayed specifically for that one university to apply to and believed that I would also get a scholarship because funding was a big concern for me.

 

Then I found out about a scholarship programme in New Zealand which I wanted to apply to but felt that I didn’t meet the required criteria. However, as I prayed, I felt a nudge in my spirit to go ahead with the application even though I had my doubts. I was shocked when I got an email a few weeks after U-Turn, stating that I had made it past the first selection process.

 

The whole application process took about 6 months of tests, which led me to really trust and rely on God for the best outcome.

 

To cut the long story short, I got the scholarship which covers all my expenses from tuition, monthly stipend and air fares. This was really more than a double portion blessing because not only was the application for the scholarship free, applying to the university was free as well. The scholarship also covered the visa application fee.

 

In the end, I did not have to pay a lot for the applications and God answered my specific prayer to apply for just one opportunity, which would pave the way for other blessings. All glory to God.
